- Summary
- Chaplin stars as a hobo who rescues a farmer's daughter from bandits and wins himself a job on the farm. This is the first film by Charlie Chaplin in which pathos was evident and the first one to end on a note of sadness. The tramp is a loveable, well-meaning character for whom nothing goes right.
