- Norman McLaren salutes the West Indies by interpreting the spirit of fiesta to the lively beat of a Trinidad orchestra. In this film, McLaren introduced a new concept in animation. He used a "vibra-drill" (a miniature pneumatic drill) to etch ever-changing patterns into the film.
