Description
1 videocassette (40 min.) : sd. col.; 1/2 in.
Summary
This tape begins with the statement: "Science has revealed much about the mechanics of sight but has yet to determine the actual resolution of the eye." Five segments employ a wide range of advances in video technology, particularly those involved in combining different images within the same frame. "Remains Vivid" concentrates on different images of a high school hallway, often combining a shot of the empty hallway with scenes of students on their way to classes. "Over Time" plays with images of clocks, Manhattan scenery and a freshly plowed field. "POV" breaks up a writer's working day into vignettes involving television, the area outside the house and a spilled cup of coffee. A four-way split screen in "Similar Nature" documents the creative activities of four individuals. "Sax and Violins" offers close-up shots of various music and sound makers.
