- James Earl Jones, in a solo performance, portrays Paul Robeson, scholar, athlete, concert artist, stage and screen actor. In Act 1, Jones recalls Robeson's youth, education, marriage and entrance into the theatrical world. Act 2 charts Robeson's self-imposed exile in England, his visits to Russia at the height of the Cold War and his harassment by the U.S. government.
