One hour with you [motion picture] / Ernst Lubitsch for Paramount.
[S.l] : [s.n.], 1932.
Director, Ernst Lubitsch.
Maurice Chevalier, Jeanette MacDonald, Genevieve Tobin, Charles Ruggles.
This musical remake of Lubitsch's 1924 silent film, The Marriage circle, was first undertaken by George Cukor who later dropped the project. In this lighthearted operetta combining rhyme and song, the setting is Paris in the spring when the citizenry falls prey to amorous escapades. Maurice Chevalier is Andre Berthier, a physician with a roving eye. He is seduced by his wife's best friend, Mitzi. Andre's fall from marital bliss impels his wife, Colette, to heed the advances of an ardent admirer. All ends happily when the couple promises to settle down to stable married life. Songs include: "One hour with you," "Three times a day," "Now I ask you, what would you do?" "What a little thing like a wedding ring can do," "Oh, that Mitzi," "It was only a dream kiss," and "We will always be sweethearts." (Does not circulate)
