- Summary
- Historian Frank Turano introduces this film documenting shellfishing in the Great South Bay, Long Island, New York. An appropriate livelihood in the 19th and early 20th centuries with the abundance of shellfish, particularly oysters, and the Long Island Railroad to supply New York City customers, the industry has since declined, and only a handful of baymen remain today.
