- Summary
- Mr. Popper, a mild-mannered housepainter, dreams of adventure in foreign lands. Polar expeditions particularly engage his fancy. Unexpectedly, he receives an unusual gift--an Antarctic penguin. Mrs. Popper does not mind having a penguin living in her refrigerator or turning her living room into an ice-skating rink. When ten baby penguins join the household, however, the Popper budget cannot stand the strain.
