Description
1 videocassette (22 min.) : sd., col.; 1/2 in.
Summary
Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable body in the world at 12,500 feet of altitude, is a challenge to divers and oceanographers. Cousteau's divers investigate the lake's legend of Inca treasure. The treasure proves illusory but the trip results in discoveries in the fields of physiology, biology, and geology as well as archaeology. There are traces of at least five civilizations in this area, four of which pre-date the Incas. In their exploration of the lake, the divers are handicapped by vegetation as well as altitude.
