Summary
American artist/author Maurice Sendak was inspired by the antics of his Sealyham terrier, Jennie, when he conceived this modern fairy tale. Dissatisfied with her luxurious lifestyle, Jennie goes out into the world to look for "something more than everything." She learns that the World Mother Goose Theatre needs a leading lady. After encounters with such Sendakian characters as a pig-in-sandwich boards, a cat milkman, a balky baby and a lion, she finds herself star of the show.
