A survey of the facts and myths about AIDS. Animation explains in simple terms how the immune system works and how the AIDS virus destroys the system's ability to fight off other diseases. Details how the virus is transmitted by semen, contaminated i.v. needles, blood transfusions, and from mother to unborn baby. Discusses the early appearance of AIDS in the U.S. among homosexuals and drug users, the spread into the general population, persons at risk and how to protect oneself.
