In this animated saga of America's immigrant history, 7-year-old Fievel Mousekewitz and his mouse family escape 1885 Czarist Russia and its marauding band of anti-rodent cats. They board ship for America where they believe "there are no cats and the streets are paved with cheese." En route, Fievel is accidentally washed overboard and makes the rest of a journey in a bottle.
