Frances Pierce speaks with Don McDonagh about Martha Graham, and her relation through Graham's father, who was her uncle; the Graham family relocating from Pennsylvania to southern Calif.; her family settling in Santa Barbara in the late 1800s; Graham as a child; the Graham family's maid, Lizzie, and the attachment Graham had to her; Graham's father; Geordie, and her immaturity; pairing off with Graham as children because they got along well; the Graham children being sheltered; Graham's house in Santa Barbara.
