1. This is the full recording of the second reading performance of the musical "Betsey Brown, a rhythm and blues musical" at the Public Theater. This musical was based on the novel "Betsey Brown" by Ntozake Shange, but it was not produced by New York Shakespeare Festival. The musical was eventually premiered in 1989 at the WHYY Forum Theatre in Philadelphia.
