Summary
  1. The second in a series of four programs devoted to the life and career of Katharine Hepburn. Filmmaker Anthony Harvey, who directed Hepburn on four occasions, is interviewed by author Foster Hirsch. They begin with a discussion of Harvey's early years as an actor and then as a film editor, especially his collaboration with director Stanley Kubrick on two movies. Harvey speaks in detail about his work with Hepburn on the 1968 production The lion in winter, and also discusses their later projects, such as the made-for-TV version of Tennessee Williams' play The glass menagerie. Harvey speaks of his off-camera friendship with Hepburn, her stage work, and his impressions of two other actresses he worked with and admired, Bette Davis and Liv Ullmann.
