- Summary
- Rose Bampton, soprano of the Metropolitan Opera, speaks of her first meeting with Toscanini, and the various works that she performed with him. Bampton relates how Toscanini emphasized the understanding of the meaning of the words of an operatic work to sing it properly. She also relates personal stories of her relationship with Maestro, including a story of serving Toscanini cold soup (this story is re-told by Bampton on track 3)
