- Summary
- Video produced at the preview of "Caffe Cino and its Legacy," a ten-week exhibit at the Vincent Astor Gallery of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. The exhibit celebrated the Greenwich Village coffee house Caffe Cino, where hundreds of plays, poetry readings, and musical revues were staged from the late 1950s through the late 1960s, under the auspices of the venue's manager Joe Cino (1931-1967). Caffe Cino was at the center of the burgeoning Off Off-Broadway movement. This video consists of excerpts from interviews with a number of Caffe Cino veterans, and excerpts from speeches delivered at the podium. Interviewees speak of memorable personalities and productions at Caffe Cino, and about Joe Cino himself.
