Summary
"Documentary offering a rare insight into the early career of dancer Rudolf Nureyev. Nureyev leapt to world attention with his dramatic defection from the Soviet Union in 1961, and went on to become one of the most photographed men of the 20th century. This programme tells the story of his time as a ballet student in Leningrad followed by three years as a soloist with the Kirov. Includes interviews with friends and colleagues, plus early cine-camera footage of the man himself." -- BBC website.
