  1. James Lipton hosts an evening of discussion with lyricist/composer Stephen Sondheim, and a performance of songs from his shows. Sondheim discusses his mentorship under lyricist Oscar Hammerstein; his music studies at Williams College; the craft of songwriting; his studies with composer Milton Babbit, and his collaborations with Harold Prince and James Lapine on such shows as Company, Follies, Sweeney Todd, and Sunday in the Park with George. A brief question and answer session with Sondheim and the Actors Studio master's degree students concludes the program.
