  • In ink, on rectos of untrimmed late 18th-cent. English paper; occasional notes on facing versos. Presumably in the hand of the unknown translator; numerous strikethroughs and emendations throughout.
  • Foliated 3-213 (leaves 1-2 wanting).
  • At end: "End of the first volume." In pencil on verso of leaf 213: "To be lettered on the back: Letters of Voltaire & D'Alembert."
