Summary

1. Guests are Todd Haimes, the artistic director of both the Roundabout and LIVENT Theatre Companies and director Matthew Bourne. In his interview with hosts Michael Riedel and Susan Haskins, Haimes explains his reasons for joining LIVENT as its creative director, and how he is able to cope with two such demanding positions of responsibility. He also describes working with his staff at Roundabout to stage the productions (A view from the bridge, Cabaret, 1776) which have yielded much acclaim for the theater company.
2. Director Matthew Bourne, whose production of the ballet Swan lake is winding up a run on Broadway, discusses the many inspirations for his radical interpretation of the classic ballet, his approach to choreography, and why he reconceived the piece for all-male swans.
