Summary

1. Kevin McKenzie, Artistic Director of American Ballet Theatre, moderates a panel discussion with choreographer, James Kudelka. Kuldelka talks about how he became interested in dance; going to cultural events as a child; what led him to choreography and who influenced him in choreography. Kudelka also explains his take on the Cinderella story; how to set up a scene to create humor; his use of music in the second act; the architecture of choreography; construction of his pas de deux; how he works with designers; and his views about the ending of the ballet. The panel discussion is interspersed with excerpts from Cinderella.
