  1. Dubbed from various recordings, some held and others not held by NYPL. First program on side 1 is from an undated recording of the Fred Allen show which features Allen, Marsh, and Lanny Ross singing parodies of famous opera arias adapted to be commercial jingles. The second program is from a recording of the Rudy Vallée show [dated Oct. 3, 1940?] featuring a fictional story of the Irish poet Thomas Moore. The third and fifth programs on side 1 from undated U.S. Steel industrial advertising recordings. The fourth program on side 1 is from a 1955 recording from Radio Miraflores, Lima, Peru. Side 2 tracks 1-2 are from a Spinorama record of Showboat (in *LZR 36889). Tracks 3-4 are from a recording of the Schaeffer Revue from July 4, 1940 (also in *LDC 31284, tracks 5-6). Tracks 5-6 are from the Ford Sunday Evening hour from June 11, 1939 (also in *LDC 31284, tracks 9-10). Tracks 7-8 are from a Hi-Tone recording (in *LO 4608 and *LDC 31284, tracks 7-8). Track 9 is from a Columbia recording (in *LO 4609 and *LDC 31284, track 2).
