[Thomas Love] Peacock was engaged this year in testing the Proserpine, a steam vessel which had been built at his suggestion, he salied from Falmouth on 17th Sept 1840 accompanied by Miss Love, Lieutenant Nicolls on duty, afterwards his son in law, his two daughters were also with him ..."
