Summary
Through interviews with dancers, choreographers, studio owners, artistic directors, parents and dance students, the film examines what draws people to become dancers, what inspires them, and why they dedicate themselves to this art form. Includes a segment on the USA International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Miss., with comments from parents and children about the value of dance competitions, and a semgent on a ballet version of Pirates of Penzance choreographed by Daryl Gray and performed by Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley. The final section of the film explores dancers' experience of injuries, eating disorders, competitiveness, and parental disapproval.
