- Summary
- The records of the Dance Theater of Nepal, 1996-2005, are the office and performance records of this group specializing in Himalayan music and dance. It includes incorporation documents, artists' profiles, publicity and press materials, program notes, support materials, and photographs. With the exception of the photographs, most materials are photocopies. The arrangement and titling of the folders are the work of Dance Theatre of Nepal's Projects Director Sherry Onna Handlin, whose additional comments on its contents can be found in folder no. 1.

- Formerly the Raj Kapoor Ensemble, the Dance Theater of Nepal has been performing in the United States since 1996. Its performances attempt to provide audiences with an experience of Himalayan culture through the variety of ethnic groups, each having its own music and dance traditons, that make up Nepali society. Perfomance venues have included George Mason University, Princeton University, the Smithsonian Institution, the American Museum of Natural History, and the Boston Museum of Science, among others. Performing members come from Nepal, the United States, Tibet, Africa, and India; among them are Raj Kapoor, Music and Dance Director, and Sherry Onna Handlin, Projects Director.
