Summary
  1. This program features a panel discussion on Martha Clarke's Vers la flamme, interspersed with performances of excerpts from the work. Clarke discusses adapting the work from several of Anton Chekhov's short stories, including The darling, Enemies, The grasshopper, The lady with the lap dog, and A nervous breakdown. Clarke also discusses the choice of compositions by Aleksandr Scriabin to accompany each piece. O'Riley discusses the music in greater detail, and Clarke talks about her process, from casting to improvisatory collaboration with the dancers to working with the designers.
