Summary
This program features a panel discussion of the new Mark Morris dance for American Ballet Theatre, Tabu tabu han, interspersed with excerpts from the dance and performances of Colin McPhee's music. Morris discusses the score's basis in traditional Balinese gamelan gong music, the process of choreographing to that music, and the differences between working with ABT's classically trained dancers and the dancers in his own company. Mizrahi discusses how theatrical costume design and design for dance in particular differs form fashion design.
