Summary
  1. The Thomas Campbell manuscript material in the Pforzheimer Collection consists of writings and correspondence. The writings include: an incomplete draft of his Life of Petrarch; a holograph poem, "Verses on a Fan," written for Lord Byron's mistress, Teresa Guiccioli; and laundry and expense lists. The bulk of the correspondence is from 1840-1841, and discusses publishing matters, family issues, and his efforts toward the liberation of Poland. Correspondents include: Richard Bentley, the publisher; Rev. William Harness, the literary scholar; John Murray, the publisher; and over two dozen others.
