- · To John Wilson Croker, politician and writer : 1 autograph letter signed : 1 Aug 1813 : (B'ANA 0221) : on giving Lord Byron passage in the Boyne. On July 13, Byron had written Croker, then Secretary to the Admiralty, for passage in the Boyne or any other ship-of-war bound for the Mediterranean. On learning, however, that he could not take along Augusta and his servants, he declined the proferred passage (Marchand, 399, 403 n.1).
