Captain Dreyfus or The Mystery of Paris an actual Jewish patriotic drama in four acts and 17 scenes with all the facts and ant-Semitic events and intrigues, political tricks,and army corruption. All the Hamans and Mordechais of the nineteenth century, the pain and the people, the shame and the honor of all the Jews before the eyes of the entire world, all that created the Dreyfus question, are, in the four-act Dreyfus drama, earnestly and with fidelity and masterfully staged, depicted by Prof. M. In the Yiddish drama we have seen some Dreyfus Affair plays, but only empty dreams of Dreyfus have been staged and theatre posters been set out, without any substance and the public was fooled having attended. Here, we promise the public that we present a perfected play "Dreyfus" and whatever was published in the newspapers over the past three years you will see appear you in the form of living people. We shall play the drama five times in a row and so we ask the public not to crowd the theatre the first night, but first to become convinced of the masterliness of our production and then to attend the later performances as often as you like. We assure you that in our production of Dreyfus, you will encounter everything that you expected and everything you wished to know about the Dreyfus Affair.]
• [One more word: Our brothers, children of Israel, the miracle of the Dreyfus Affair, that has occurred in our lifetime is the greatest miracle that has ever ocurred, grreater than the miracle of Chanukah, than the miracle of Purim, since it happened at a time when miracles never happen.[...] And just as we read the Scroll of Esther in synagogue every year to remind ourselves of Haman's downfall and we holler "Blessed be Mordechai and cursed be Haman" Jews must run into the theatre, see the entire scroll of Dreyfus unfold and shout "Cursed be Esterhazy and all the anti-Semites, and blessed be Emile Zola and the writer Brisson, his memory should be blessed."
