  • [Wednesday the 25th of May, 1898, a benefit will be given for a charitable cause--for a young man of twenty-three years who has been severely ill for the last two years. The doctors have been insisting that he must travel to a warm country and stay there--that he can no longer live in this area. We will not publish the name of the young man since he comes from a respectable family ... it should be enough for the worthy public to recognize the names of this committee that is putting on this performance to know that the cause is worthy and praiseworthy. The committee includes the following gentlemen: Dr. Radi, Chairman, Dr. Zolotoroff, Treasurer, and Mr. Isidore Zaks, Trustee].
  • [For this cause we will be staging the sparkling melodrama The Bowery Tramp, by Rudolf Marks. The following artists will appear in this production: Mme. Faynman, Miss Sabina Vaynblat, Mr. M. Rozenthal].
  • [Wednesday evening, May 25, 1898. After the performance Mr. Max Rosenthal will perform The Guiltless Murder directed and especially written for him by Jacob Gordin].
  • At top of poster: Thalia Theatre.
