Summary
  1. This program features panel discussions on two new productions by New York City Opera. Each segment includes two arias performed by singers from the productions, interspersed with discussions with the singers, directors and set designers. The singers speak about their roles, the rehearsal process and audience reactions; the directors and set designers speak about the decision to give the productions modern settings, and their interpretations of the scores. Panelists discuss the comic elements of L'Italiana and the relationship between Verdi's Macbeth and the Shakespeare play.
