Mattox speaks about the character of jazz dancing; his professional background; his style of dancing; his teaching methods; his objectives; Jack Cole. A short excerpt of jazz music is played.
  • Tracks 14-31 (ca. 18 min.). Host Marian Horosko introduces Lillian Moore and Robert Joffrey. Joffrey and Moore speak about the Joffrey Ballet, including its origins; the Joffrey Ballet School, including the school's commercial success; the company's development and growth, including its financial reliance on tours; the company's performances in the U.S.S.R.; the grant recently received from the Ford Foundation for new works.
