- Summary
- In this interview taped shortly before his death, actor Ron Vawter discusses his work in a modern adaptation of the Philoctetes of Sophocles, the Greek tragedy about a soldier en route to the Trojan war who is abandoned by his comrades when he is bitten by a snake and becomes ill. Vawter discusses the play in light of his experiences as a person with AIDS, and also discusses the disease and its impact on his life. Also includes a brief excerpt from the film Philadelphia, featuring Ron Vawter.
