Summary
Lecture from Robert Wilson followed by question-and-answer session. Wilson begins by discussing "our responsibility as artists," then tells of his earliest experiences with the performing arts, and liking the ballet "very much" because of the space. Wilson discusses his early collaborators - Raymond Andrews and Christopher Knowles - and works in detail, including: The king of Spain, KA MOUNTAIN AND GUARDenia TERRACE, and The life and times of Joseph Stalin. Wilson also elaborates on Hamlet, including Ralph Fiennes' performance in a recent production. Disc 2 begins with Wilson discussing A letter for Queen Victoria and Einstein on the beach, and also elaborates on working with Jessye Norman on Great day in the morning and Montserrat Caballé in Salome. Wilson illustrates his lecture through slides of his production and drawings on an easel.
