Merce Cunningham answers questions from moderator Suzanne Carbonneau and from the audience after a performance by the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. Cunningham discusses the structures of his dances, in particular Rondo; variables and complexity in his choreography; how the dancers in his company keep track of timing without reference to music; his use of chance operations; the method of his collaborations with composers and visual artists; his use of computer software in creating choreography; dealing with creative "block"; and how dancers enter his company.
