The first segment contains an interview with Mel Tomlinson, a multifaceted dancer whose many roles included the Moor (Othello) in The moor's pavane. The second segment depicts Clay Taliaferro, a former member of the José Limón Dance Company and an eminent interpreter of the Moor, as he works with the cast of The moor's pavane, which he restaged for Charleston Ballet Theatre in 1996.
