Description
1 videocassette (VHS, NTSC) (6 min.) : sd., b&w; 1/2 in.
Summary
Excerpt from a variety performance in aid of the World Wildlife Fund, in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II and other members of royalty. The ballet excerpt is misidentified as "Thursday's child" by host Rex Harrison, who also identifies Nureyev as "Rupert" Nureyev. In Ashton's ballet Jazz calendar, based on the poem beginning "Monday's child is fair of face," this pas de deux takes its inspiration from the line "Friday's child is loving and giving."
