Summary
  1. Documentary on the 1965-66 world tour of Jerry Herman's musical comedy Hello, Dolly!, starring Mary Martin. Martin narrates this footage, which follows the show from its London performance for Queen Elizabeth II to Japan and to Vietnam, where the troupe performs the show for American soldiers. While in Japan, Mary Martin visits a Kabuki playhouse and is invited to the dressing room by the lead player, a female impersonator. In Vietnam, Gen. William C. Westmoreland attends a performance. Brief excerpts from performances and rehearsals of Hello, Dolly! in various parts of the world are interspersed throughout.
