- "In 1999 fourteen artists were invited to make site-specific works for Footfalls, an annual exhibition in Greenport, Long Island, New York. The site for my project is at the end of Fourth Street in Greenport, where the village placed five boulders to prevent cars from driving into the harbor. Several shadows moving across the stone between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. were painted during the week of the summer solstice in June. The fixed paint and the moving shadows were then photographed throughout the day to make this timetable."--Statement by the artist.
