Description
  1. 1 videocassette (VHS, NTSC) (88 min.) : sd., col.; 1/2 in.
Summary
  1. Part of The Studies Project, an ongoing series of discussions, performances, and other presentations. The program begins with works by choreographers Steve Gross (live performance and a film, part of a longer work) and Susan Rethorst (works performed with dancers Vicky Shick and Erin Fitzgerald). When the recording of the discussion starts (at ca. 28 min. into the tape), Roseanne Spradlin's introduction is already in progress. She describes Bonnie Cohen's theory of body-mind centering and its applicability to choreographic analysis. The discussion, which involves both audience and performers, focuses on the works performed, and explores creative approach, working process, choices made while making the piece, the expressivity of movement and objects, approach to performing, rhythm in a work, and other topics.
