Summary
Open air performance following the DanceAfrica 2004 performance in Brooklyn Academy of Music's Howard Gilman Opera House. Chuck Davis introduces honoree Rahkiah Abdurahman, who gives a brief statement. After a memorial for past members of the DanceAfrica Council of Elders, Karen Thornton-Davies introduces a performance of African dances by various local performing groups, including children and adults. Following this performance, Lee Abramson of the Council of Elders makes special presentations to Brooklyn Academy of Music staff members and Council member Mary Robinson. Kumali Abramson of the Council presents a plaque to Rahkiah Abdurahman. The audience is invited to join in the dancing at the end of the program.
