Summary
The international ballet project of 1988 brought dancers from various countries to Jacob's Pillow to study the works of Antony Tudor. This demonstration class begins with a ballet barre directed by ballet project director Benjamin Harkarvy, who then introduces the project and speaks about Tudor's choreography. Sallie Wilson and Gayle Young direct the students in rehearsals of excerpts from Lilac garden and Dark elegies, discussing the ballets and coaching the dancers in their interpretation of the choreography. At the end of the tape the dancers introduce themselves; many names are inaudible.
