- Cassette 10, side A (ca. 38 min.). This recording consists in substantial part of Frederic Franklin's comments on photographs of ballets, and a score, shown to him at the interview. Franklin speaks about George Balanchine's ballet Jeu de cartes; Franklin's first meeting Vera Zorina, in London; Franklin's role as the Joker; the cast, costumes, set, and choreography; Alicia Markova's solo; Franklin's solo; Balanchine's putting him in charge of the rehearsals; Igor Stravinsky's attitude toward the ballet; Franklin comments on photographs of Jeu de cartes. [Ends abruptly.]

Franklin speaks about the card games the dancers used to play backstage, on tour; Edward Caton's ballet Lola Montez, including Franklin's solo; Franklin's completing the ballet after Caton left it unfinished; Ruth Page's ballet Love story; Antonia Cobos' ballet Madroños; Franklin comments on photographs of the ballet; the costumes and choreography, including his role; the meaning of the word "madroños"; Cobos's personal background; Alexandra Danilova's solo; more on Cobos's relationship with [Georges] the Marquis de Cuevas; Cobos's choreographing of the Mikado for the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo; Franklin begins speaking about the ballet known as the Magic swan [Act III of Swan Lake, by Alexandra Fedorova after Marius Petipa].
