Biography (note)
  1. Franklin F. Hopper was Chief of the Circulation Department (renamed the Branch Libraries in 1966) of The New York Public Library from 1919-1941. Prior to that he was Chief of the Order Division, and before joining NYPL in 1914 worked for the Library of Congress (1901-1902), the Carnegie Library (1902-1908) and the Tacoma Public Library (1908-1913). Hopper was Director of The New York Public Library from 1941 until his retirement in 1946.

  1. Franklin F. Hopper was Chief of the Circulation Department (renamed the Branch Libraries in 1966) of The New York Public Library from 1919-1941.
