- Jean Godfrey was Chief of the Circulation Department (renamed the Branch Libraries in 1966) of The New York Public Library from 1963-1970. Prior to that she was Superintendent of the Extension Division (1952-1954), Coordinator of Manhattan Branches (1954-1957) and Assistant Chief (1957-1963).
