The correspondence consists of letters from the author, dating from 1921 to 1973, to Graham Ackroyd, Susan Hill, Simon Nowell-Smith, William Sansom, Leonard Woolf, Virginia Woolf, and others. There is also a letter to Plomer from W. S. Maugham, dated Sept. 30, 1934.
