Summary
  1. Entrant in the Dance Films Association's 31st annual Dance on Camera Festival 2003. Documentary on the wide-ranging achievements of Donald McKayle, dancer, choreographer, director, and teacher, whose career spans the worlds of dance, the Broadway stage, film, and television. The program emphasizes his lifelong interest in the human spirit and condition, his contributions to the American civil rights movement, and his long-held belief in and practice of multiculturalism, all of which find expression in his works. The program contains extended segments on two recent works, House of tears (1992) and Heartbeats (1997).
