Summary
This is a synthetic collection consisting of manuscript and typescripts, correspondence, diaries from 1911 to [1917], an undated commonplace book, notebooks for 1916-1940, financial and legal documents, and portraits and pictorial works. The manuscripts and typescripts include drafts and typescript copies of poems, articles, essays, fiction, film scenarios, and criticism. Also included are poems and essays about the author.
The correspondence includes letters by the author, dating from 1915 to 1943, to Amelia Earhart, Ann Eckert, Clark Gable, Archibald MacLeish, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Howard Irving Young, and others. Also present are letters relating to the author, from 1907 to 1956, between various correspondents including Ann Eckert, James Maxwell Fassett, Dorothy Kenyon, her mother Cora B. Millay, her sister Norma Millay, her husband Howard Irving Young, and others. There are letters to Kathleen Millay from Eugen Jan Boissevain, Guy Carleton, Ann Eckert, Ralph Fitzwater, Philip Rockel Frey, Autti James, James Pershall Lawyer, Horace Liveright Inc., Cora Millay, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Norma Millay, William Morrow and Co., The New Yorker, Leila Rogers, Isobel Simpson, W. T. Walton, Wilmot Walne Werner, Howard Young, and May Young, dating from 1904 to 1934.
