  • This is a synthetic collection, created from materials acquired through gift and purchase from various sources. The bulk of the materials is from W. T. H. Howe, from the estate of Gerald D. McDonald, and Henry W. and Albert A. Berg. Other materials came with Masefield's correspondence with Elizabeth Robins and with Lady Gregory's papers. His "Ballades of cold corpses" was a gift of Sally and Lew David Feldman in memory of John Dozier Gordan.
